Phillippa came to me to make a posy of a few stems which she could keep as a souvenir of her wedding day. In honour of her mother she wanted a flower similar in design to a violet. Its purple colour featured in other elements of the wedding from invitations to the long velvet coat the bride wore once the sun went down at her brewery barn wedding. I made a number of different samples of 5 petal flowers and we decided on one which used a repeating fold for each petal. From colour samples I was sent I selected five different textured fabrics, silk satins, crepes and cottons so that each petal would have a subtly different hue and texture ensuring the flowers wouldn't appear flat. The six stems are bound with green ribbon to coordinate with other elements of the wedding and a Swarovskii crystal finish each flower.
